Trekkie: Star Trek The Movie 2009

Well I got them! Yes, Sweet Swing!!! Tickets to the premier night of the new Star Trek movie, on May the 8th. So hold on tight for a review (possibly vlog, video log) to follow immediately after viewing...
A Star Trek friend of mine, I won't use the term Trekkie, but that's especially what we are, asked why I felt qualified to review the movie.
At first I took slight offense, but now I think he's right. (Surprised?) Just what qualifications do I really have beyond writing a Science Fiction Blog with science fiction short stories, and building a Science Fiction Virtual World (Viradu.com - with a Gene Roddenberry region) like a holodeck, of reviewing the new Star Trek movie?
Well, ah . . . . let me think. I use to watch the original show with my dad the first season at the age of 8 years old, and every re-run there after. All the other television series, all the Trek movies, and I once have to admit to going to an actual science fiction convention, but that was for "Doctor Who" in college. I'm not sure that actually counts?!
Well I guess that makes me maybe less qualified than some of the people without a life out there, but more qualified than others who just have a poser Trekkie life like myself. Yeah, I'm talking to you my fellow Trekkie who has read this far!
Live long and prosper... I can't wait till the movie! Until then, here is a link to an earlier blog post about how a Star Trek Warp Drive might actually work in this reality ===>
